Farm stalls in the Northern Cape

If you are on the way to the Augrabies Falls or Kgalagadi you won’t go hungry at Oma Miemie’s farm stall, situated in the Main Street of Kenhardt. They offer everything from breakfast to ‘potbrood’, ‘vetkoek’ and milk tart. It is also well stocked with a wide selection of marmalades, jams, jellies and chutneys as well as dried and fresh fruit, vegetables and other fresh farm produce.

  1. I heard a lot about Oma Miemes Farm Stall so made a point of stopping for break in the journey with my wife and kids. It is very quaint and a real “Oasis”. I walked in and went to the toilet, all very clean. When I walked out, my young daughter of 12 called me to have a look at the bikers jacket hanging on the wall behind the counter. It was full of “patches” with the most foul and filthy language on the “patches”. A “Hells Angel” type jacket. A good place to stop and have a break, but NOT if you have youngsters with you. The jacket is totally out of place and should very definitely not be hanging on a wall for youngsters to see.
